UPPER YARRA ANZACS
All soldier from the Upper Yarra will be featured in the website and the fallen will have a tree planted along the Lilydale to Warburton Railway line. Now the Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail
It is proposed that signs will direct the community to commemorate the fallen Anzacs. A tree will be planted and a replica of the original wooden tree guards will display the soldier’s name plate or plaque.
Below is a collection of the Honor rolls, cenotaphs and memorials from the Upper Yarra. Thank you to Bob Sutherland and other photographers who have supplied photographs. New photographs with controlled lighting will be taken to replace photographs with flash flares.
Millgrove Roll of Honor WW1
The board is on display at Warburton RSL Sub Branch. The Honour Roll once hung in the Millgrove St Mary’s Methodist Church, now demolished.
The board was manufactured by F K Cox and Co, Art Cabinet Manufacturing, Newmarket, Melbourne in 1919
Political Labor Council, Yarra Junction Branch Honor Roll
This roll now hangs in the Upper Yarra RSL.
The roll originally was installed in the Shire Offices at Yarra Junction in 1917.
